Robert Vincent Eddis,73, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. Bob was born August 13, 1953, and is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Mary Elizabeth Eddis (nee Reustle).

A father of four children, Bob is survived by his son, Kevin and daughter-in-law Lynn Eddis, daughter, Elizabeth and son-in-law Bob Kramer, daughter Kate and son-in-law Matt Weiland, and daughter Maureen and son-in-law Shawn Sharkey.

He was also a loving "Pop" to 10 grandchildren: Haley, Grace, Aubrey, Aiden, Hazel, Jacob, Braelynn, Ryan, Maeve and Connor.

A lifelong resident of Philadelphia, Bob grew up in Wissinoming with parents James W. Eddis (2008, and Mary Eddis (2009, Nee: Malloy), and brother James W. Eddis Jr. (2011 Husband of Denise).

Bob was a devoted public servant, serving in the Philadelphia Police Department for 26 years, before finishing the remainder of his career at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #5, serving as President from 2002-2007.

Bob was a huge Philadelphia sports fan. He especially enjoyed going to Phillies games with his family. He also loved music and his absolute favorite were The Rolling Stones. He delighted in torturing his children with his rendition of “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.”

Family and friends are invited to attend Bob’s viewing on Friday, September 4, 2026 at St. Martha Parish 11301 Academy Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19154 from 9:30 – 10:45 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 am. Interment will be held privately by the family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
